Difference between aeronautical and aerospace?

They are almost identical at most schools and are used interchangeably in industry. Today very few if any schools even offer a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering is almost universal. The main difference is that Aerospace offers a few elective courses in rocket propulsion and orbital mechanics
