How do you get a car out of ice?

It's not really entrenched or anything, just the tires are sitting on a big mound of ice and when I try to move it just spins the tires. I don't have anything to break ice with and will try to find some ice melt tonight. Also, it just started doing this thing when I tried to get it out where you turn it on and it constantly revs the engine even tho I'm not giving it any gas. If I put it in drive or reverse it spins the tires at about 1500-2000 rpm's, so I think this could be effecting the traction too, like it's not able to get a good grip in between spinning the tires. Any suggestions? Thanks
